AR [Augmented Reality] 3D Convergence Education of Art – 01
The first series of ‘Artory’ AR 3D Convergence Education textbook contains four units including My Peacock, Snail in the Rain, Sea World and Fish Bowl. Each unit provides theme related performance activity fostering children’s spatial awareness and various of development. These units provide STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) learning during the lesson through play experience. Learning through play enables children to obtain knowledge with enjoyment manipulating the AR 3D App during the lesson. The lesson chants for each unit are topically related consolidating keywords and key sentence of the lesson.
The AR 3D Convergence Education of Art – 01 contains the download link for the 3D App, Artbook, material package and three sets of resource kit. Providence of learning materials and resources can take the burden of the teachers and parents at home providing art performance activities. The ‘Artory Teacher’s Guidebook’ is one of the features of the AR 3D Convergence Education of Art – 01 to support educators and parents providing quality education for the children. The guidebook includes the example of lessons delivering ideas of lessons to an adult who will be providing the lessons.
The details of each unit:
Unit 1. My peacock
This unit aims for children to understand the body structure of the birds and depict peacocks by hand painting. The experience provides children to feel the texture of the paints learning through sensory play. Sensory Play (learning through 5 senses) stimulates children’s brain development which is the foundation of child’s development. Children may use different colours to depict peacock and decorate their peacock with art materials. The end product of this lesson can be used with the AR 3D App for children to learn chants and see their art work in 3-dimensional.
Unit 2. Snail in the Rain
This unit aims for children to express rain drops using water colour paints and to learn the science knowledge how snails carry spiral house on their back. Children can feel the coloured water and experience the movement of the water in the bowl and using their hands with a sponge. Children can experience the science concept ‘gravity’ behind the scene observing how the water only drops towards the ground. Depicting rainy day helps children recall their prior experience which stimulates their schema. The end product is used to facilitate AR 3D app with the children to learn chants and appreciate their art work.
Unit 3. Sea World
This unit aims for children to different form of water when using different materials and depicting the science under the sea with the resource kit provided. The lesson includes exploration of the form of water with sponge, straw and syringe. Children can observe the change of water according to different kinds of physical force. This unit includes fish shaped sponges for children to stamp on the art book to depict fish under the sea. The variety of colours amaze children and provide the enjoyment of the art lesson. The end product is used to facilitate AR 3D app with the children to learn chants and appreciate their work.
Unit 4. Fish Bowl
This unit aims for children to learn about the body structure of fish and experience origami to develop children’s fine motor skills. The lesson is to make child’s own fish bowl in the art book. The example of conversation during the lesson between the child and an educator in the guidebook are carefully phrased to foster warm interaction and English learning. The process of origami can be challenging for children but the unit is aimed to overcome this challenge and to develop their fine motor skills using their pincer grip while folding fish. The end product used to facilitate AR 3D app with the children to learn chants and appreciate their work.
