A road stud is one of the devices installed in the center line or shoulder of a road and a bike lane promotes road safety by allowing drivers or pedestrians to have good awareness about the shape of the road and directions and to move safely.
Unlike existing retroreflector-type road markers which people can recognize just through the reflection of light, LED is lighted through pure solar energy without the need for a separate power supply and recognition of road shapes is maximized. When fully charged, the new road marker can be lighted continuously for up to 20 days and can deal with various weather changes.
This LED technology integrating solar energy isn’t limited to road markers. The technology is expected to have unlimited market potential because it can be applied to electricity-consuming devices, such as facilities for road safety like bollards and divisional strips, road signs and street lamps.
