Introduction
Jeju cactus, also known as the plant with a hundred year lifespan, grows in the coastal regions of Wollyeong-Li, Hallim-Eub, North Jeju-Gun, and has been designated as Jeju Monument No. 35. It is abundant in phenoloids and flavonoids, which are well known anti-aging and anti-cancer substances. In addition, fiber constitutes over 30 percent of its mass, which effectively acts to relieve constipation, improve appetite, intestinal movement, urination and blood circulation (Reference: Reports by the Korea Food Research Institute and the Natural Product Research Institute at Seoul National University).
