EPD refers to a reflective display that uses electrophoresis. Conventionally, charged black, white, or colored particles are dispersed in a colloidal suspension, and particles are displaced using electric field to display information. EPD displays consumes less power than emissive displays such as LCD and OLED and yield excellent outdoor visibility, making it effective for applications such as e-Signage, electronic shelf label (ESL), and e-Paper.
Our EPD approach, as shown below, is a colored solvent based in that one type of color or black or white particles dispersed in colored solvent which rendering variance of colors with dofferemt combinations of the colors of the particles and solvent.
Our EPD materials are commercially available from us in the form of the colloidal solutions EPD-InkTM. Another product using EPD technology is EPD-CapsuleTM which is created by using micro-capsules to encapsulate EPD-InkTM with an optically transmissible medium. Another product using EPD materials is EPD-FilmTM. This is a fillm that renders variable colors according to external electric field and which can be manufactured using EPD-InkTM or EPD-CapsuleTM technologies.
