Introduction

PORTABLE AM TRAMSCEIVER SET PRC-950K

The PRC-950K is a frequency hopping portable radio that was developed for the purpose of replacing the KAN/URC-87 and AN/GRC-156 as the next generation AM tactical radio. The PRC-950K was designed for backpack mobility and is used for both short and moderately long distance wireless communication using amplitude modulation with selective output power of 5Watts or 20Watts.

As well as the fixed mode feature, the PRC-950K has the Link Quality Assessment (LQA) function, which measures the quality of the preserved frequencies that will be used, and also has the Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) function, which automatically determines the qualified frequencies with which to communicate.

 

Its other key functions include digital data communication that allows interface with the Message Entry Read-out Device (MEROD) and various Data Terminal Equipment (DTE), a self-test function (BITE), and a preserved frequency erasing function. 


 
VRC-950K

The VRC-950K is the next generation AM amplitude modulation radio to replace AM tactical radios such as the RF-2301A and the AN/GRC-165. The VRC-950K was developed for vehicular use and is ideal for both short and moderately long distance two-way wireless communication with an output power of 100Watts.


The VRC-950K has two different modes: a fixed mode, which transmits and receives the signal with one frequency and; a hopping mode which implements ECCM (Electronic Counter-Counter measures) capabilities. The VRC-950K possesses similar functions as the PRC-950K such as the LQA function, the ALE function, digital data interface with MEROD and various DTE, self-test function, and the preserved frequency erasing function. 

 
 
VSC-870K

The VSC-870K is a modem that connects various data communication equipment such as the PSC-107K data communication device, computers, and teletypewriter with the VRC-950K, facilitating quick and accurate data communication. The VSC-870K can be installed either on a vehicle or at a base station.

It can be operated in a fixed or hopping frequency mode interfacing with the VRC-950K and can be utilized in either synchronous or asynchronous mode depending on the requirement of the communication device. In addition, it supports the connection with the RS-232 and RS-422 for connectivity with various communication devices and possesses a self-test function (BITE) with a modular internal design.  

 
TEST E quipment set TSM-5K
The TSM-5K test equipment set checks and repairs the RT-801K transceiver and related modules and the TN-854K and OZ-853K which are key equipment that constitute the VRC-950K. The TSM-5K is user friendly and requires very little technical know-how to operate especially in the field.

This equipment can be easily installed and operated onboard jeeps and other military vehicles. Once the TSM-5K automatically carries out a test of the system and component modules of the next generation HF radio set, the numeric test results are displayed on the front panel of the measuring instrument allowing the operator to carry out the necessary maintenance activities in accordance with the numeric results and follow-on procedures displayed on the panel.

Furthermore, the TSM-5K comes equipped with the DEBUG and EMULATION features that allow for easy and accurate manual testing of specific components during the overall testing process.  

 
AC/DC POWER SUPPLY SET VSQ-856K

The VSQ-856K power supply set (stationary or vehicular) provides stable direct current power to the VRC-950K (vehicular radio) and VRC-870K (modem set) by using common alternate current (AC) and direct current (DC) power sources. It has an automatic transfer function which automatically selects the power source.

 

Common AC and DC (20V DC ~ 32V DC) can be provided simultaneously for continuous supply of power even during interruptions. Also, over-voltage, output interruption, under-voltage, output information indication features allow for convenient and easy operation.  

 
CHARGER SET GSQ-812K
The GSQ-821K is a stationary charger set that is used to charge Ni-cd batteries using AC power. It possesses an automatic transfer function which automatically selects the power source as well as a self inspection and discharge function, an overcharge prevention function, charge completion display function, and a status display function which all make it easy and convenient to operate.
