Introduction

Altocast is an orthopedic casting tape made by impregnating a water curable polyurethane resin manufactured with technology researched and developed for 20 years into a glass fiber and polyester knitted fiber using special knitting technology. The product may be used instead of the “plaster bandage” or plaster of Paris (POP) we often see in orthopedic wards. When fractures and the bone location do not match, it is used to correct the bone’s location or treat the damage muscles without any problems. Usually, a stockinette is inserted, on top of which cotton or polyester pads as well as two thirds of Altocast pad are wrapped, to protect the skin.

No folding of ends – Because glass fiber touches the core where the casting tape is wrapped, it does not roll up causing no need to cut the end parts with a scissor or to spread them out using one’s hands like products of other companies. This greatly helps save effort and time and is a patented technology. Less smell of chemical products – Given the product’s characteristics, the greatest difference in product quality that can be discerned as soon as it is opened is its smell. Altocast has almost no smell compared to chemical products of other companies in the same business.
