Ingredient selection of taheebo

Taheebo is a type of trumpet creeper, and there are countless species of trumpet creepers.
In South America, there are over 100 different types of naturally grown trumpet creepers, but of those, Tabebuia avellanedae, grown in select areas of Brazil, with red or purple flowers, are the ingredients of taheebo.

Tabebuia avellanedae is a huge tree which grows up to be 30m tall with diameter of 50cm - 1.5m, with the trunk so hard that using an electrical saw will not cut it down. Taheebo consists of the bark of this tree, just between the outer bark and the lignum, which is about 7mm thick.
