The LOAA® Dr. PCR is a CMOS photosensor-based digital PCR cartridge and reader equipped with a nano-semiconductor sensor chip-based PCR module and reader system.
The LOAA® Dr. PCR is a next-generation PCR method using microfluidic technology with extremely high sensitivity that complements the shortcomings of conventional PCR and real-time PCR. The positive detection and the absolute quantification of the target gene is possible via the output. In particular, the PCR reaction mixture to be analyzed using the LOAA® Dr. PCR cartridge does not undergo a complicated pretreatment step for partitioning. From thousands to tens of thousands of PCR reactions can be performed in the cartridge simultaneously and PCR experiments can be performed in a convenient and easy way. When containing target molecules, single molecules can be amplified over a million times, and sequence-specific targets can be detected using TaqMan with a probe with a fluorescent label during amplification. When containing no target base sequence, no signal is accumulated. Through two filter channels, different target molecules can be analyzed and compared, and the negative reactions are used to generate the absolute number of target molecules without using reference materials. The PCR amplification curves are displayed in a real-time manner which enables high specificity of the test.
