Causes of skin problems
Aging, weakening of the skin’s barrier function due to a decrease in the individual’s immune system, skin irritation due to contact with external harmful substances, and lack of moisturizing factors in the skin are known to be the main factors. In this case, the skin lipid structure changes to an abnormal form, resulting in a continuous loss of skin moisture and a significant decrease in the moisture content of the skin.
The skin barrier is composed of 15 to 20 x-layers of keratinocytes arranged in regular columns embedded in a lipophilic intercellular substance beneath a water-lipid membrane.
