Introduction
A GPS antenna receives signals sent from a satellite and amplifies the weakened signals and
extracts targeted signals from them, making it possible to acquire the necessary information.
1. Antenna part – Receives signals of carrier wave whose frequency is 1575 MHz. Bandwidth is
2.046 MHz. RIGHT-HAND CIRCULARIZATION POLARIZATION.
2. LNA part – Minimizes the noise of weakened satellite signals and amplifies the signals.
3. GPS Module part – Demodulates target signals from the carrier wave and calculate the location
data for example.
Features
The antenna can be used for car navigation systems and as an external antenna for black boxes
of vehicles. Antennas are embedded already inside navigation systems. However, they have
some limitation in maintaining desired reception sensitivity. In order to enhance the reception
rate, an external antenna should be installed. It can be simply installed by connecting it to a
connector on the back side of a navigation unit or a black box, without applying a specific
technique.
